Plagiarism is Easy

Instant Fame, Instant Money, Instant etc etc..
ya Plagiarism is easy....

But remember the higher the rise unlawfully the harder the fall... and yes u might as well land up in jail and pay an enourmous amount of fine.. This is not the end.. The company u r working for may also land up in a BIIIIIIIIG LAWSUIT..
But in India nobody seems to be bothered about it it seems.. although the law is being changed..
The clients are afraid to invest in research labs in India.. What if they patent something in India.. next day somewhere someone will come up with a duplicate and no step will be taken against them.. and if something is done .. it will take heck of a lot time..
SO its better to stay away..

Although the copy paste in the literature world has been brought into highlight recently but this has existed everywhere.. in many creations.. What a shame such a newspaper title would bring upon a country... Indian writer apologises for plagiarism
This is not a shame for only the writer but also for the whole literature community and the country....
Someday ago i was in a conference.. and somebody raised this issue.. The answer that came was .. "we donot copy paste.. we just follow.. because we liked the idea.." Everybody just laughed at this statement.. but this is what we do.. and finally somebody has to come and sue.. How shameful.

In our IT industry when a client gives a project we pledge on certain things.. but many of it.. like sharing of client docs, pieces of code specifically whats called as client IP.. is found at other places outside the project.. Can't help.. But the pledge is gone to the dustbin.. y care??

IP (intellectual property) issues are so harsh in the outside world that companies actually file patents and wait for somebody to come and infringe on them..
a company actually did this some years ago.. it detected a small company infringe on one of its IPs.. waited for almost 10 long years.. saw the company grow to fame.. and then went ahead and files a lawsuit.. extracted some millions of dollars.. -- can u imagine if such a lawsuit is filed against our indian companies.. what will their future become.. leave alone the shame, the guilt.. Their market value will go down.. much of their assets gone.... all because of some copy paste issues..
SO small .. two words.. but they can cost u millions...
So the next time u or me wanna do a piece of work.. write something.. write a piece of code.. don't just hop onto the browser .. open google and the rest follows.. using the ctrl+c and ctrl+v.. take some time to read and develop ideas.. It may take some time .. but ultimately it pays..
Trust me..

Today the software world is hopping onto the opensource bandwagon, why then this ghost of IP infringement still bothers you, if you support opensource, you should also support copy-paste. And, trust me in the end you want to get the work done, no matter how you do it - using google or writing crappy code yourself.

by the way we are talking about client code.. not data formats.. SOAP is a open plaintext data exchange not a peice of code..
go ahead and ban the usage of plain text .readme and .txt files... LOLZ
